ILO violation 87,98 : In August 2006, the management at Haesong Corporation Ltd and Haesong BD Ltd took matters even further by hiring thugs to make death threats against two workers active in trying to form a union at the factories. When the workers refused to heed the warnings, the thugs intervened and forcibly removed them from their residence near the factory and transported them back to their rural villages in the countryside – effectively terminating their employment and their efforts to organise the union.:
